Zlatorog est un bouquetin aux cornes d'or, gardien des Alpes Juliennes. La légende prétend qu'il dirigeait un royaume enchanté caché dans les Alpes et veillait sur un fabuleux trésor. Lorsque les Hommes ont commencé à le chasser, il détruisit son royaume et cacha son tréso dans les Alpes.
